The members of the department are involved with several international and interdisciplinary networks. Especially in the urban research, members participate for many years in networks such as the “Network for Urban Cultural Studies” or the French-German network “Penser l’urban par l’image” (PUI). And the interdisciplinary doctoral network “Historical and Ethnographic Research in Dialogue” promotes a continuous exchange across disciplinary boundaries. Cooperative long-term research is being promoted by the project Bad Ischl - Capital of Culture 2024 of European Ethnology in Austria.
